Rebranding and Redesigning Visit Pacifica’s Website

The previous Visit Pacifica website didn’t do justice to the city’s many offerings. Our goal was to redesign the site to better reflect the city’s charm, outdoor activities, and hospitality.

A Complete Digital Overhaul

  • New Visual Identity: We started by redesigning the logo, taking inspiration from the Pacific Ocean and the city’s adventurous spirit. The color palette was based on Pacifica’s beaches and fog, offering a tranquil but inviting feel.

  • SEO Optimization: To improve the site’s discoverability, we incorporated SEO best practices throughout, including keyword-rich descriptions, optimized page titles, and meta descriptions focused on Pacifica’s main attractions. This significantly improved organic search rankings.

  • Mobile-First Design: Understanding that the majority of users would be accessing the site on mobile devices, we implemented a mobile-first design approach. This ensured that the user experience was seamless across all devices, particularly for visitors on-the-go. Key features included fast-loading pages, touch-friendly navigation, and mobile-optimized maps of Pacifica’s hiking trails and beaches.

  • Enhanced User Engagement: The redesigned website included interactive features like a dynamic events calendar, integrated with Pacifica’s social media accounts to display real-time updates on local events. We also added immersive video backgrounds showcasing stunning drone footage of Pacifica’s coastline, which immediately captured visitors’ attention upon landing on the homepage.

  • Calls to Action: The site emphasized clear and persuasive calls-to-action, such as “Plan Your Visit” buttons leading to pre-planned itineraries for different types of visitors (e.g., families, outdoor enthusiasts, weekend travelers). This helped turn casual browsers into committed tourists.

The result? Organic traffic to the Visit Pacifica website doubled, and local businesses saw a significant uptick in inquiries. Thanks to the website's SEO improvements, it also ranked higher on Google for key travel-related searches, positioning Pacifica as a top Bay Area destination for visitors.
